TWIN CITY DAYS
On Saturday, September 10, 2016 join shithead and his fellow Kiwanians from 9 until 11 am as they present the 22nd Annual Kid's Games and Money Pit. All children under ten may participate in a series of activities such as kicking soccer goals, hitting plastic golf balls, Bocce Ball and other skill challenges. The final event is the "Money Pit", where the children are allowed 90 seconds to find all of the coins they find in a sand pit filled with $500.00 in quarters, dimes and nickels. And the kids get to keep their booty!
Upon completion of the activities, the children are awarded a gold Twin City Days Medallion. Bob also recommends that the entire family enjoy the many varied activities of Twin City Days, September 8 through 10. Events include trivia, talent, golf, fishing, washers and bowling competitions, as well as a car and tractor show, food trucks and concerts. This annual event is conducted by the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce. "DINING OUT FOR LIFE"
In April of 2010, Bob Kister Injury Law was honored to host on behalf of the St. Louis Effort for AIDS the first Jefferson County Dining Out for Life. Each year since then, BKIL has joined restaurants in Jefferson County to host this event.
On April 25, 2013 Bob and Hillsboro attorney Dennis Tesreau joined National Chairman Tim Allen, and Regional Chairman Ozzie Smith in hosting "Dining Out for Life" at Poppy's restaurant in Crystal City. All evening the facility was packed (in part because BKIL paid for everyone's drinks, adding to the festive mood). Paul Albano, Bonnie and their staff fed everyone and provided great service, donating a percentage of the evening’s proceeds to this fine program.
More than 150 restaurants in St. Louis County and St. Charles County participate in Dining Out for Life, helping St. Louis Effort for AIDS to fund HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan Area including Jefferson County.
"NIGHT OF SUPERSTARS"
BKIL is proud to be a annual Sponsor of the St. Louis "Night of Superstars" which is held in February at the Civic Center in Farmington Missouri. This event was brought to St. Louis by Rhonda and Jerry Overberg of ReMax Best Choice to honor young people achieving despite significant handicaps and impairments.
The honorees each received a formal gown or tuxedo rental and professional hair care in preparation for the big night. Each received a limousine ride, with a police escort provided by the Jefferson County and St. Francois County Sheriff's Departments and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Upon arrival, each "Superstar" was interviewed and given a deluxe "red carpet" experience. The Superstars received awards for their achievements, and the food and drink were tremendous. After the Awards presentation, the Superstars and those honoring them, are treated to a high energy concert by Nashville recording artist and Texas Songwriter of the Year for 2008 Jason Ashley and his talented band.
In addition to raising the spirits of everyone in attendance, the donations of the corporate sponsors like myself raised funds for "Regan's Hope".
